About the Council Changes

Starting Spring 2026, Arun District Council is rolling out their new waste strategy. The biggest change for Littlehampton homeowners is the switch to smaller 180-litre wheelie bins for general waste, collected fortnightly. While they are introducing weekly food waste collections, many families will find the new smaller general waste bin simply isn't big enough for two weeks' worth of rubbish.

It’s part of the 'Simpler Recycling' government reforms to push recycling rates up. The council believes that by collecting food waste weekly and limiting your general waste capacity, you'll be forced to recycle more. We agree recycling is vital—but we also know that shrinking the bin doesn't magically shrink a family's waste output.

You can, but it’s a hassle. The Littlehampton Household Waste Recycling Site on Mill Lane requires pre-booking for vehicles, and there are limits on what (and how much) you can bring. Plus, nobody wants to load smelly black bags into the back of their clean car on a Saturday morning.

About Our Service

100%. We are a fully licensed and insured. As long as your waste is collected by a licensed carrier and disposed of at an authorised facility, you are fully compliant with the law. We supplement the council service, we don't replace your right to it.

Absolutely. Anyone living near East Beach or the river knows that seagulls are professional bin raiders. Because we collect weekly (or on demand), your bins don't get overfilled, meaning lids stay shut and birds can't get in. No more waking up to rubbish strewn across your driveway.

No. While we encourage using the council's new food waste caddies for the environment, you can put general household waste in our bins. We sort and dispose of it responsibly at a licensed energy-from-waste facility, so it doesn't just sit in a landfill.

No! Keep using your council bins for recycling and your standard allowance. Use us for the overflow. Most of our customers fill their council bin first, then use our private bin for the excess that would otherwise pile up in the garage or garden.

We cover the whole BN17 area and surroundings. From Wick and Toddington down to the seafront, and out to Rustington, East Preston, and Climping. If the Arun bin lorry goes down your street, so do we.
